Job Description:
Full job descriptionAbout the RoleWe are working with a leading luxury care developer to support their growing finance team. Operating approximately 25 purpose-built luxury care homes with a significant expansion plan for the coming year, they are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join their Care Operations finance team, reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader. This individual will manage cash collection, direct debit processing, cash posting, and act as a key liaison for residents, families, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities*Cash allocation, including posting receipts from bank transfer, card payments, and direct debit collections.
*Managing the Direct Debit collection process.
*Acting as the primary point of contact for care homes, residents, families, and local authorities regarding debt balances, handling sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
*Taking responsibility for an assigned portfolio of homes. This includes chasing overdue debts, maintaining the debtors ledger, providing reconciliations, and offering clear explanations of balances due, as well as escalating long-term overdue debts to senior management.
*Supporting invoicing processes as required, including raising and processing care fee invoices to support the wider team.
*Driving process improvements within credit control and reporting, ensuring strong controls and industry best practices are in place.

*Proficient in Excel.
*Able to communicate effectively and compassionately over the phone.
*Self-motivated and capable of working well within a team environment.
*Possesses a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
*While an understanding of different funding streams (Local Authority, Private, Deferred) is preferred, it is not essential.
