We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to provide accurate and efficient financial support to our Trust. This role is crucial for the effective operation of the Trust’s financial systems and procedures, ensuring the school uses its funding wisely and continues to gain value for money.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Support the Director of Finance and Financial Controller in budget monitoring and procurement processes.
*Assist the Senior Management Team during the year-end accounts process and the annual budget setting process.
*Ensure that processes and systems are met to match income against expenditure.
*Maintain the contracts register and elements of payroll monitoring.
*Lead budget monitoring for Special Education Needs and handle the payment of supplier invoices as required.
*Provide operational support to the finance team as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Part-qualified, AAT qualified, or qualified by experience across a recognised accountancy body (ESSENTIAL).
*Previous experience of working in Accounts within a school (ESSENTIAL).
*Educated at least to ’A’ level status.
*Experience using SAGE 200 and other recognised ledger packages.
*Strong attention to detail and ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy.
*Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
*Ability to plan own work schedule to meet agreed deadlines.
*Proficient in using IT systems, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
*Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive and confidential issues.
*Enhanced DBS clearance is required by the successful candidate.
