Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting children with **SEND, particularly Autism and communication needs**?
Aspire People are currently recruiting a dedicated **SEND Teaching Assistant** to work within a supportive primary school environment. The role would suit someone who understands that children with additional needs may require a different approach to communication, learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, personalised support and help pupils access learning and develop their independence.
**The Role:**
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
* Supporting children with Autism and social communication needs
* Helping pupils with sensory and emotional regulation
* Supporting communication and interaction development
* Adapting classroom activities to make learning accessible
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
**The Ideal Candidate:**
* Recent experience working within a UK primary school
* Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or Autism
* Patient, calm, and nurturing approach
* Understanding of sensory and communication needs
* Strong relationship-building skills
* Confident working as part of a wider school team
