Full job descriptionExperienced Transport PlannerWe’re looking for experienced Transport Planners to join a busy, fast-paced operation where no two days are the same.
There are several working patterns available, including day shifts, night shifts, four-on/four-off patterns and Monday-to-Friday office hours. We’re therefore keen to speak with experienced planners who can bring strong operational judgement, remain calm under pressure and coordinate vehicles, drivers and workloads efficiently.
The roleYou will be responsible for:
*Planning and coordinating daily vehicle and driver movements
*Allocating jobs according to availability, location and operational priorities
*Responding quickly to urgent requests and changing circumstances
*Monitoring schedules and resolving delays or potential service issues
*Maintaining regular communication with drivers, customers and operational teams
*Ensuring vehicles and drivers are used safely and efficiently
*Keeping planning systems and operational records accurate and up to date
*Identifying ways to improve routes, productivity and service levels
*Supporting a smooth handover between shifts where required
About youWe’re looking for someone with:
*Previous experience in transport, logistics, route or resource planning
*Strong geographical and route-planning knowledge
*The ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
*Confident communication and problem-solving skills
*Good attention to detail and strong IT skills
*The ability to make sound decisions when plans change unexpectedly
*Experience working with drivers, field-based teams or operational resources
Experience within reactive services, utilities, construction logistics, haulage, distribution or another fast-moving transport environment would be particularly useful.

*Day shifts
*Night shifts
*Four-on/four-off shift patterns
*Monday to Friday, approximately 9am–5pm
