Pay Rate: £13.58 per hour (PAYE)
Full-Time | Up to 37 Hours per Week
Temporary Assignment | 2 - 3 Months Initially
Rotherham Council are looking for four Waste Management Operatives to support the delivery of essential environmental and waste management services across the borough.

Day to day of the role:
As a Waste Management Operative, you will work as part of a team, and occasionally independently, delivering a high-quality environmental service throughout the borough. Duties may include waste collection, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and supporting other frontline services as required.
You will be expected to work flexibly across service areas including waste management, environmental cleansing, highways support, horticultural, and grounds maintenance activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Collect waste and recycling from domestic and commercial properties
*Empty litter bins and undertake litter picking duties
*Report environmental issues such as fly-tipping, damaged street furniture, and potholes
*Assist with waste container deliveries and vehicle safety procedures
*Support street cleansing and environmental maintenance activities
*Undertake horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks where required
*Operate powered tools, plant, and equipment following appropriate training
*Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
*Support service delivery across other operational teams as required
*Experience of manual outdoor work in a physically demanding environment
*Knowledge of environmental cleansing, waste management, horticultural, or grounds maintenance activities
*Experience operating powered tools, plant, or equipment
*Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
*Awareness of environmental issues and the importance of community services
*Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team
*Reliable, hardworking, and adaptable approach to work
*Experience working to operational targets and service standards
