The OpportunityThis post holder will be based within the Legal and Democracy Support Team, supervising teams providing specialist, high-quality administrative and clerical support to Executive Liaison Officers. This will include support for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Leader of the Client.
Accountabilities*Act as a go-to resource for expertise in specialist support services to the Client’s executive and provide support for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
*Ensure that all duties of the support and specialist support officers are undertaken to a high standard, managing the allocation of resources within the Support Team. This includes allocating work according to changing priorities, organising busy periods, and overseeing diary management to ensure the team can accommodate ad hoc requests alongside the standard workload.
*Work closely with other Supervisors within the service and the Elections Specialist to ensure appropriate support is planned and delivered throughout the year, ensuring client priorities and objectives are met and statutory responsibilities are complied with, while remaining agile enough to respond to changing demands and peak periods.
*Maintain a general awareness of local government functions and governance arrangements to ensure informed support and guidance can be provided.
*Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including acting as a representative of the Client where required. Liaise with internal and external services, stakeholders, partners and customers in support of the aims and objectives of the Client.
