Full job descriptionRobert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Trainee Accountant to join a well-recognised Professional Services company based in Bradford-on-Avon. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive:
£30,000 - £35,000 plus study support package, hybrid remote working and wider benefits package


Roles and responsibilities over time will include but not limited to:
*Support agreed purchase order processes, including assisting staff with raising, editing, approving and receipting of purchase orders
*Involved in production of month-end accounts
*Prepayments and accruals processing through the ledger for month end accounting
*Produce aged creditors reports and review regularly. Take appropriate actions to maintain tidy and accurate purchase ledger accounts
*Reconcile the month end accounts payable to the ledger
*Take ownership of the invoice processing system, maintaining vendor templates and monitoring processing accuracy
*Ensure accurate and timely payments are made to suppliers and remittance advices are sent in a timely manner
*Reconcile supplier statements where received
*Communication with budget holders and suppliers
*Learn how payroll works in HR Information System
*Gain knowledge and experience to ultimately be responsible for monthly pension accounting and processing to include query resolution
*Ownership of the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of month-end payroll processes and journalling into accounts
*Ensuring all payroll queries are responded to within agreed timeframe. Either responding directly, delegating appropriately or liaising with other departments to ensure an appropriate resolution is reached
*Take responsibility for the Fixed Assets Register
*Perform monthly bank reconciliations and journalling for income accounting including accruals
*Be part of the team working with external auditors to provide information and respond to queries
Person specification:
*Currently studying towards / ready begin professional qualification (ACA / ACMA / ACCA)
*Relevant degree related to the role (AAT also considered)
*Current experience working within a finance team
*Competent using IT tools with experience using MS packages - can demonstrate Excel skills
*Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills
*An active willingness and ability to learn and develop new knowledge and skills
*A confident communicator who works well within a team
