Hours: 40 hours per week
Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays
Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Builder to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing operation based in the Milton Keynes area.
This is a hands-on, skilled role suited to someone with a strong background in vehicle building, coachbuilding, carpentry/joinery, vehicle interiors, assembly or a similar engineering trade.
You will be working as part of an experienced team carrying out the build, refurbishment and repair of vehicle interiors to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities*Stripping and rebuilding vehicle interiors
*Removing and replacing interior panels and components
*Removing, repairing and replacing flooring and plywood floor panels
*Cutting materials accurately to specified shapes and measurements
*Re-insulating vehicle panels
*Carrying out assembly and fitting work
*Working with a range of materials including wood and GRP
*Using hand and power tools including saws, chisels, planes, screwdrivers, spanners, torque wrenches, circular saws and jigsaws
*Working accurately from written instructions and specifications
*Completing work to the required quality and safety standards
*Checking and self-certifying completed work where required
About YouWe are looking for someone who has a good practical engineering or skilled-trade background and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Ideally, you will have:
*Previous experience within vehicle building, coachbuilding, vehicle interiors, carpentry/joinery, assembly or a similar skilled trade
*An apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent trade qualification would be advantageous
*Good practical experience using hand and power tools
*Strong attention to detail
*Good problem-solving skills
*The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
*An understanding of quality standards and safe working practices
*The ability to work effectively to deadlines
Previous experience working with rail vehicles or rolling stock would be advantageous but is not essential.
There may occasionally be a requirement to work different shifts or travel to other UK sites, so some flexibility will be required.
