Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite in Canary Wharf)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (49 weeks)

Are you a hands-on Linux Automation Engineer with a strong background in Perl and Python? We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to support, maintain, and evolve a critical enterprise platform for a large-scale global client.
In this role, you will champion operational excellence by optimizing automation workflows, troubleshooting complex infrastructure, and driving platform modernization initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
*Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing automation solutions using Perl, Python, and Shell scripting.

*Support and optimize Linux-based production environments (RHEL), ensuring high reliability and stability.

*Manage CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Jenkins) for seamless build and deployment processes.

*Diagnose and resolve cross-platform infrastructure, application, and network issues.

*Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to investigate incidents and implement continuous improvements.

What We’re Looking For:
*Strong enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting experience (RHEL or similar).

*Heavy-hitting scripting and automation skills (Perl, Python, Bash, or Korn Shell).

*Solid knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI/CD tooling.

*Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP).

*Proven ability to work independently in complex, large-scale, or regulated enterprise environments.

Desirable Skills:
*Enterprise storage experience (NetApp, SAN solutions).

*Knowledge of authentication tech (Kerberos, SPNEGO).

*Database exposure (PostgreSQL, SQLite).

*Familiarity with cloud, containerization, and modern platform engineering practices.
