Child Care Public Law Team | Walsall | Full-Time | Competitive Salary DOE
Are you an experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in people’s lives?
A respected and well-established law firm in the Walsall area is seeking a dedicated Legal Secretarial Assistant to join its busy Child Care Public Law Department. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive team that provides vital legal services to families and children involved in care proceedings.
The Role
Working closely with solicitors and legal professionals, you will play a key role in supporting a varied caseload and ensuring clients receive a professional and compassionate service throughout their legal journey.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing urgent correspondence and court documentation
*Preparing and submitting Legal Aid applications and administration via CCMS
*Electronic diary and case management
*Liaising with experts, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals
*Compiling and managing electronic court bundles using software such as Bundledocs
*Opening new files and carrying out conflict checks
*Preparing files for billing and closure
*Scanning, filing, and maintaining accurate case records
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within a Child Care/Public Law or Family Law environment (minimum 1 year preferred)
Strong typing and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
Experience of legal aid applications and billing processes
Knowledge of care proceedings, court processes, and bundle preparation
A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional client service
