A well-established charitable organisation based in the heart of Norwich is seeking a Payroll Advisor to join its friendly finance team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working autonomously while being part of a close-knit team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service. Working within a small team of two, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes from start to finish and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
The role offers 15 hours per week, with flexibility over when these hours are worked to support work-life balance. Hybrid working arrangements are also available.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing end-to-end payroll processes for employees
*Processing starters, leavers and payroll amendments
*Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
*Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and within agreed deadlines
*Maintaining payroll records and employee data
*Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
*Assisting with payroll reporting and reconciliations
*Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and internal procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Proven experience managing payroll from end to end
*Strong understanding of payroll legislation and best practice
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
*Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable Skills
*Experience using Sage 50 Payroll would be advantageous, but is not essential
