This role is with a local authority, based in London.
Description
*To maintain the integrity of the underpinning chart of accounts, balances and transactions to facilitate all aspects of statutory and management reporting.
*Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
*To lead on Collection Fund, Revenue Accounting, Chart of Accounts, Balance Sheet Management, VAT and ensure the efficient and timely completion of all completion of related Returns (statutory or otherwise).
*To complete statutory and non-government returns such as the NNDR1-3, CTR1, Revenue Outturn Returns and Whole Government Accounts.
*Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making.
*Assist with audits and liaise with auditors as required.
Profile
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
*A professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience in accounting and finance.
*Strong understanding of financial accounting and local government regulations.
*Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
*Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
*Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Job Offer
*Daily rate of £500 to £550
