Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Website and Intranet Officer to join a well-established charity organisation on a temporary basis. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the organisation’s website and intranet, ensuring both platforms remain engaging, accessible, user-friendly and effective in supporting organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage and maintain the organisation’s website, ensuring content, functionality and user journeys remain accurate, engaging and up to date
*Create, edit and publish digital content across website and intranet platforms
*Monitor website functionality and resolve issues in a timely manner
*Support website development projects and ongoing enhancements
*Manage relationships with external web development agencies and digital suppliers
*Analyse website performance data and provide recommendations to improve user experience and engagement
*Optimise website content and structure to improve visibility across search engines and AI-powered search platforms
*Lead ongoing improvements to SEO, accessibility, content discoverability and user journeys
*Maintain and develop the organisation’s intranet platform, ensuring information remains accessible and relevant to staff
*Support colleagues with content creation and intranet management
*Produce website performance reports and analyse key digital metrics using analytics tools
*Ensure compliance with GDPR, accessibility standards and digital governance requirements
*Monitor content quality, publishing controls and website governance processes
*Support internal communications and engagement activities through digital channels
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*Experience managing and updating websites using a content management system, ideally WordPress
*Experience creating, editing and publishing digital content
*Strong understanding of SEO and website optimisation principles
*Experience using website analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics
*Knowledge of website accessibility standards and best practice
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvements
*Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements and improve digital content
*Excellent written communication and content editing skills
*Strong organisational and project management abilities
*Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
*Ability to build effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders
*Experience working within the charity, education, housing or public sector would be advantageous
Location: Hybrid (flexible working pattern)
Working Pattern: Part-Time
Hours: 20 hours per week
Length: 3 months
Rate: £18 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
