Location: Norfolk
Contract: Until the end of March 2027
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £30–£35 per hour
Working arrangement: Predominantly site-based
We are currently recruiting for an experienced ASB / Community Safety Enforcement Officer to join a Council based in Norfolk on a contract basis through to the end of March 2027.
This is a hands-on, enforcement-focused role and would suit someone with a strong background in anti-social behaviour, environmental enforcement, fly-tipping and community safety.
Due to the nature of the work, this is a predominantly site-based role. You will be required to undertake investigations, site visits and enforcement activity across the area, so candidates must be comfortable working in the community rather than primarily from home.
Key responsibilities*Investigate and manage ASB and community safety cases
*Undertake proactive enforcement activity across Norfolk
*Investigate fly-tipping, waste offences and environmental crime
*Gather evidence through site visits, photographs, CCTV, witness statements and other investigative methods
*Interview individuals and businesses as part of investigations
*Issue appropriate enforcement notices, warnings and Fixed Penalty Notices
*Prepare evidence and case files for prosecution where required
*Work closely with Police, Legal, Housing, Environmental Health and other partner agencies
*Respond to complaints and reports from residents and businesses
*Carry out inspections and investigations on site
*Maintain accurate case records and provide reports as required
*Attend court and provide evidence where necessary
About youWe are looking for an experienced enforcement professional who can hit the ground running and work confidently with a degree of autonomy.
You should have demonstrable experience in one or more of the following:
*Anti-social behaviour / ASB enforcement
*Community safety
*Environmental enforcement
*Fly-tipping investigations
*Waste enforcement
*Environmental crime
*Local authority enforcement
*Evidence gathering and case preparation
*Prosecutions and court proceedings
Experience with Community Protection Warnings/Notices, Fixed Penalty Notices, Public Space Protection Orders or similar enforcement powers would be highly advantageous.
You’ll need to be confident dealing with challenging situations, have excellent investigative and communication skills, and be comfortable undertaking regular field-based enforcement work.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is likely to be required due to the site-based nature of the role.
