Full job descriptionGraduate Supply Chain Manager
Are you a graduate looking to start your career in Purchasing and Supply Chain?
Do you enjoy working with numbers, analysing information and solving problems?
Would you like to join a high-precision engineering and aerospace manufacturing environment where you can genuinely develop your career?
I’m currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join an established purchasing team in a varied and commercially focused role.
This opportunity would be particularly suitable for a recent graduate looking to begin a career in purchasing, procurement or supply chain. Degrees in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or a similar analytical subject would be particularly relevant, although other degree backgrounds will also be considered.
The role will include:
*Raising and managing purchase orders
*Liaising with suppliers and monitoring delivery dates
*Expediting orders to ensure materials arrive on time
*Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations
*Working closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality and Finance
*Maintaining accurate purchasing information on ERP/MRP systems
*Monitoring supplier performance
*Supporting cost-saving and alternative sourcing initiatives
*Helping identify potential supply chain risks
*Developing strong supplier relationships
We’re looking for someone who is:
*A graduate or someone at the early stages of their career
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*Numerically and analytically minded
*Confident communicating with different people
*Comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Office
*Able to manage several priorities at once
*Proactive, professional and keen to learn
Previous purchasing or supply chain experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. This could be an excellent first career opportunity for a graduate with the right attitude, commercial awareness and willingness to develop.
There are also strong development opportunities, including practical procurement experience, internal training and the potential to work towards CIPS qualifications.
If you are a graduate looking for your first opportunity as a Junior Buyer, please reply to this email or get in touch and I’ll happily talk you through the role.
