We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and develop the Quality function within a complex manufacturing operation. This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to shape quality strategy, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a culture where quality is owned and championed across the entire business.
The Opportunity
As Quality Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all quality-related activities, maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 standards and ensuring robust quality management systems are in place. You will lead a team of quality professionals and work collaboratively with operations, engineering, technical and supply chain teams to drive sustainable improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Strategy
*Lead the site’s quality strategy and continuous improvement agenda.
*Provide quality performance insights and reporting that drive operational improvements.
*Act as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy.
Quality Management Systems
*Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
*Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and audit requirements.
*Lead internal audits, procedural reviews and compliance activities.
*Ensure all testing and inspection methodologies are effective and aligned to customer requirements.
Customer & Supplier Quality
*Act as the escalation point for customer and supplier quality issues.
*Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
*Manage the customer complaints process, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
*Develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers to support quality improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
*Support process, manufacturing and product improvement projects.
*Work alongside operations and improvement teams to deliver measurable business benefits.
*Drive reduction in customer complaints and quality-related costs.
*Apply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies to improve performance.
Team Leadership
*Lead, coach and develop a team of quality professionals.
*Identify training and development opportunities to build capability across the function.
*Ensure appropriate staffing and succession planning within the department.
*Facilitate regular quality reviews and knowledge-sharing forums.
Team Management
You will directly lead a team of four quality professionals, providing leadership, coaching and performance management to ensure operational excellence and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Qualifications
*Qualification in Quality Management (or equivalent professional certification).
*Proven experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality leadership role within manufacturing.
*Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
*Experience leading audits, corrective action processes and quality improvement programmes.
*Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
*Experience dealing directly with customers and suppliers on quality matters.
