Join our well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor team, delivering high-quality building services solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement and project teams, ensuring the efficient sourcing and delivery of mechanical and electrical components for ongoing projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist in sourcing mechanical and electrical materials, plant, and equipment.
*Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
*Raise and process purchase orders in line with company procedures.
*Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
*Track orders and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies.
*Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
*Support negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
*Work closely with project managers and site teams to meet project deadlines.
*Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control to ensure project continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role, preferably within the M&E, construction, or engineering sectors.
*Knowledge of mechanical and electrical materials is desirable but not essential.
*Strong organisational and administrative skills.
*Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
*Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
