Salary: £52,305 to £57,738 per annum, depending on experience, plus 30 days annual leave and employer pension contribution of 6.8%.
The Greater London Authority is seeking a Business Manager to join a newly established Business Management and Performance function within the Corporate Resources & Business Improvement Directorate.
Working closely with the Head of Business Performance, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting business planning, governance, financial oversight, performance reporting and organisational improvement across services that support Londoners and the wider work of the GLA.
You will help drive consistency, improve processes and provide high-quality business management support to ensure directorate priorities are delivered effectively.
The Opportunity
As a Business Manager, you will work across a range of specialist areas including People, Facilities Management, Data & Digital, Executive Support, Finance, Procurement and Legal. You will help coordinate business activities, support governance processes and provide insight that enables informed decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, contribute to high-profile public sector initiatives and help shape the development of a newly formed team.
Key Responsibilities
*Coordinate business management activities across the directorate.
*Support budget planning, monitoring and financial reporting.
*Monitor and report on performance measures and key priorities.
*Prepare reports, briefings and management information for senior stakeholders.
*Coordinate responses to governance requests, including Mayor’s Questions and committee information requests.
*Support audit activity and track delivery of follow-up actions.
*Work collaboratively with HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal and other corporate functions.
*Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
*Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
*Support risk management and help ensure key deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
About You
We are looking for a professional and organised individual with experience in business management, business support or a related function within a complex organisation.
You will also bring:
*Experience coordinating projects, business activities or corporate processes.
*Strong organisational and planning skills.
*Experience supporting budgets, governance, performance reporting or business planning activities.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
*The ability to analyse information and present findings clearly.
*Good attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
*The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands.
*Experience of identifying issues and contributing to practical solutions.
