Full job descriptionWe are partnering with a dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation seeking a proactive Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and evolving business.The successful candidate will take full ownership of the month-end process for a defined business area, providing insightful financial reporting, business partnering support, and helping to drive continuous improvements across finance processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
*Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
*Deliver meaningful variance analysis with clear commentary, investigating and explaining movements against budget and forecast.
*Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies as required.
*Support the development of robust cost control processes and financial reporting for operational stakeholders.
*Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads to ensure deadlines are achieved and assumptions are appropriately challenged.
*Build strong working relationships across the business, providing financial insight and support to non-finance stakeholders.
*Identify opportunities for process improvements, driving efficiencies and best practice within the finance function.
*Provide support for business change initiatives, integrations and other ad hoc finance projects as required.
*Assist with the annual audit process, supplying supporting documentation and responding to audit queries.
*Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools and planning processes.
*Champion high standards of financial control, accountability and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
*Actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification.
*Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar role.
*Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and managing competing priorities.
*Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
*Proactive, adaptable and organised, with a willingness to take ownership and drive improvements.
*Experience using modern ERP systems and financial planning/reporting tools would be advantageous.
