Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn established and growing business within the construction and transport sector is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join its busy operations team.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in construction, haulage or transport planning and be confident managing the day-to-day coordination of vehicles, drivers and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities*Plan and coordinate vehicle movements and daily transport requirements.
*Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently to meet operational demands.
*Liaise with customers, drivers, suppliers and internal teams.
*Manage incoming orders and coordinate deliveries and collections.
*Respond to changes, delays and operational issues throughout the day.
*Provide clear instructions and support to drivers.
*Maintain accurate records and complete general transport administration.
*Assist with ensuring the transport operation runs efficiently and effectively.
*Work closely with management to resolve day-to-day operational challenges.
About You*Previous transport planning experience within the construction or haulage industry is essential
*Strong geographical knowledge and an understanding of road networks.
*Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
*The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
*A confident telephone manner and strong communication skills.
*Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.
*The ability to remain calm and make practical decisions under pressure.
*A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
*Good IT and administrative skills.
