As part of our dedicated team, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of maternity services, ensuring an exceptional experience for patients throughout their pregnancy journey. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where collaboration, innovation, and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.This role will play a pivotal part in overseeing the maternity scan pathways across the Women’s Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital and Horton General Hospital, ensuring women receive the appropriate scan, follow up, review and onward management within agreed timescales and are not lost to follow-up. Act as a key point of contact between Ultrasound, Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine, Diabetes in Pregnancy services, sonographers, midwives, consultants, MDT coordinators and administration teams.

· Monitor referrals, appointments, outcomes and follow up actions.
· Support pathway compliance and timely access to scans.
· Act as a bridge between sites and services.
Main duties of the jobThe postholder will maintain tracking systems across Ultrasound, Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine and Diabetes in Pregnancy pathways, ensuring referrals, appointments, scan outcomes and follow-up actions are monitored and progressed appropriately. They will identify patients at risk of delay, manage pathway exceptions and ensure no patient is lost to follow-up.
Working across the Women’s Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital and Horton General Hospital, the postholder will act as a key link between clinical and administrative teams, supporting coordinated care and timely access to services. They will monitor pathway performance, coordinate follow-up actions and escalate capacity, compliance and patient safety concerns where required.
The role will support delivery of expanded maternity ultrasound services, ensuring patients receive all allocated appointments within required gestational timeframes. Through effective pathway management, reporting and service coordination, the postholder will contribute to improved patient safety, patient experience, pathway compliance and operational performance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesMain Purpose of the Post

Key ResponsibilitiesFailsafe Management
· Review patients who do not have booked appointments, tracking DNAs, cancellations, delayed appointments and follow-up scans to ensure patients are not lost to follow-up.
· Support safe, timely and patient-centred access to maternity scan pathways by progressing appointments, follow-up actions and onward referrals in line with clinical priorities and agreed timescales.
· Escalate urgent concerns, delays, capacity issues and patient safety risks appropriately, recognising when clinical, safeguarding or managerial input is required.
Pathway Coordination and Booking Oversight
· Support Ultrasound, Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine and Diabetes in Pregnancy pathways, ensuring patients are booked within required gestational and clinical timescales.
