Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning?
We are working with a number of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Greenwich seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors to provide targeted support to students who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral guidance.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Behaviour Mentors, Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers, Support Workers, Sports Coaches and graduates looking to gain valuable experience within education.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
*Provide one-to-one and small group support to students requiring behavioural, emotional or pastoral support
*Build positive and trusting relationships to encourage engagement, attendance and achievement
*Support students in developing confidence, resilience and positive behaviour strategies
*Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support plans and interventions
*Help students overcome barriers to learning and remain engaged in lessons
*Support students during lessons, social times and transitions throughout the school day
*Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
*Monitor and report on behaviour, wellbeing and progress targets
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who:
*Have experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, care or support settings
*Are confident supporting students who may display challenging behaviour
*Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Are patient, resilient and calm under pressure
*Can manage challenging situations using a positive and proactive approach
*Are passionate about improving outcomes for young people
*Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider support team
Experience supporting students with SEMH needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD or other additional needs is desirable but not essential.
