Full job descriptionAre you an experienced Class 1 Low Loader Driver with plant operating experience looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing and reputable business?
We are recruiting for a permanent HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver / Plant Operator to support the transportation and operation of a wide range of plant and access equipment across multiple customer sites.
Working Hours & Pay
*Monday to Friday
*6:30am - 4:30pm
*£20.00 - £24.00 per hour
About the Role
This is a varied position combining professional driving duties with the operation of plant and access equipment. You’ll be responsible for the safe transportation of machinery between locations, ensuring all loads are secured correctly and delivered efficiently.
Main Duties
*Driving HGV Class 1 low loader vehicles
*Collecting and delivering plant and access equipment
*Loading, unloading and securing machinery for transport
*Operating mini diggers, dumpers and other small plant equipment
*Operating powered access equipment where required
*Carrying out daily vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections
*Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
*Providing excellent service to customers on site
Depot Locations
The company operates from two strategic hubs, with one depot based in Chertsey and a second depot located further north through Hertfordshire.
Drivers have the flexibility to start and finish their day from either location, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates based anywhere between the two hubs.
What We’re Looking For
*Clean license
*Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
*Current Driver CPC
*Digital Tachograph Card
*Valid IPAF Qualification - 1b, 3a, 3b
*NPORS cat N120c
*CSCS Green card
*Proven low loader driving experience
*Experience operating mini diggers, dumpers and similar plant equipment
*Good knowledge of plant and access machinery
*Understanding of load security and safe transportation practices
*Reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
