Finance Manager | Drive Control, Performance & Continuous Improvement
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing multi-site business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and meaningful commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting capabilities across the organisation.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you will lead the day-to-day finance operation across multiple entities and locations, providing accurate financial information and supporting business growth through effective financial management.
You will also be responsible for managing and developing a finance team of three, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency and service across the department.
Key Responsibilities
*Produce monthly management accounts across multiple entities
*Manage the month-end and year-end close process
*Prepare accounts through to audit-ready stage and manage the external audit process
*Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management activities
*Oversee financial processes across multiple companies and locations
*Manage and review monthly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
*Oversee VAT, taxation and statutory reporting requirements
*Manage bank payments, reconciliations, credit control and company credit card processes
*Maintain strong financial controls and governance across the business
*Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of three
*Provide insightful financial analysis to support business performance and decision-making
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems, processes and reporting
*Support the business in leveraging technology and automation to increase efficiency
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
You will ideally have:
*ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification
*Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior finance role
*Strong management and financial reporting experience
*Experience managing multiple entities and complex financial operations
*Sound knowledge of payroll, VAT and statutory compliance requirements
*Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
*Experience improving processes and implementing efficiencies
*Team management experience
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
