Job Description:
Full job descriptionHybrid working: 2 days in office - 12 month fixed term contract!!!
Large-scale bespoke steel builds, premium sporting and live events across Europe, blue-chip clients the industry aspires to. An Event Operations Manager position with full end-to-end ownership, a boutique permanent team, and a working pattern rare for any build-facing role.
- Two-day office week, flexible scheduling. Rare for a build-facing role
- Private healthcare including mental health and CBT module (Vitality)
- 20 days holiday plus full Christmas shutdown (roughly two additional weeks)
- Annual bonus scheme, performance-linked pay reviews
- Premium wellness and gym facilities included at no cost to you
- Birthday off, £50/month phone and gym allowance, cycle-to-work
The Company
This is a specialist supplier of temporary and demountable steel structures, designing and fabricating bespoke builds for the premium end of live events and sport. The work is construction-grade in complexity and high-profile in profile, with a roster of blue-chip clients across Europe and beyond. The permanent team is boutique, scaling with a strong freelance network across peak season. The culture is flat, technically rigorous and genuinely ambitious.
The Role
The Event Operations Manager sits at the senior end of the project management team, taking full commercial and operational ownership of multiple simultaneous builds, with a clear opportunity to develop two junior project managers as the business scales.
- End-to-end delivery of large touring activations and bespoke temporary structure builds
- Managing international project logistics, scheduling and on-site operations
- Senior client relationship management across the full project lifecycle
- Budget ownership, cost tracking and commercial reporting per project
- Coordinating across design, fabrication and site management teams
- Mentoring and day-to-day support of junior project managers
- Pre-event administration and programme scheduling at pace
The Candidate
The right Event Operations Manager will be an experienced project leader from a live events or temporary structures background, comfortable owning complex, multi-site builds from initial brief through to on-site delivery and close-out. Managing international logistics is second nature, and you are equally confident holding a senior client relationship as you are coordinating across fabrication and site teams under pressure.
Experience with touring activations or rinse-and-repeat weekly event schedules would be beneficial but is not essential for the Event Operations Manager, as would a background in steel structures, fabrication or construction-based builds. People management experience is a positive, though candidates who have informally guided junior team members without a formal line management title are equally welcome to apply.
Senior scope, an unusually flexible working pattern for a build-facing role, and a strong overall package make the Event Operations Manager one worth moving quickly on. First interview slots are being filled now, so get your application in and we will be in touch without delay.
