  • £35,000 - £50,000 per annum
Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn established and highly respected accountancy practice with more than 90 years of experience is looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join its growing tax team in Sevenoaks.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident personal tax professional looking to take the next step in their career within a stable, forward-thinking and genuinely supportive firm.

You’ll join a collegiate team where people are encouraged to take ownership, develop their expertise and contribute ideas, while working alongside experienced professionals who put clients at the heart of everything they do.

The firm has an enviable and diverse client base, including significant experience across the entertainment, sports and creative sectors, alongside a broad range of other industries. The result is a varied portfolio and the opportunity to work on interesting tax matters rather than simply processing compliance work.

The Role

As Tax Senior, you’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of personal tax clients, managing their affairs from compliance through to advisory and tax planning. You’ll have regular client contact and will work closely with Tax Managers and Partners, giving you excellent exposure to more complex and interesting areas of personal taxation.

Your responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and Making Tax Digital returns with minimal supervision
*Preparing and reviewing P11Ds, benefits-in-kind calculations and employer Class 1A NICs
*Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key day-to-day point of contact
*Preparing accurate income tax and capital gains tax computations
*Dealing with HMRC correspondence, enquiries and disclosures
*Identifying tax planning opportunities and escalating more complex matters where appropriate
*Advising on areas including capital gains, inheritance tax and non-resident taxation
*Reviewing junior team members’ work and providing guidance and support
*Managing your own workflow and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
*Keeping up to date with UK tax legislation and regulatory developments

About You

You’ll ideally have at least three years’ experience in personal tax, with a strong grounding in UK tax compliance and a genuine interest in developing your advisory skills.

You’ll be commercially minded, technically strong and confident communicating with clients. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of your workload.

Professional qualification progress such as ATT, CTA or ACA would be advantageous, and the firm is committed to supporting continued professional development and career progression.

Why Join?

This is more than a compliance role. It’s an opportunity to build strong client relationships, broaden your technical knowledge and develop your career within an established practice that values its people.

You’ll benefit from a friendly, inclusive and multi-generational working environment, with genuine support for professional development and work-life balance.

The benefits package includes 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, paid time off between Christmas and New Year, parking, training and development opportunities, exam bonuses, an Employee Assistance Programme, cycle-to-work.
