Role Overview
The Finance Manager will take ownership of the end-to-end finance function. Supported by a small transactional team, this is a broad, hands-on role covering ledger control, cashflow forecasting, tax compliance, audit, and oversight of the monthly management accounts process.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working across all areas of finance and taking responsibility for ensuring that the underlying accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable processing and reviewing transactions as they are producing management information and explaining financial performance.

Key Responsibilities*Manage the day-to-day finance function, supported by a small transactional team.
*Maintain a rolling cashflow forecast and optimise working capital.
*Support the payment run, covering suppliers and subcontractors.
*Prepare weekly and monthly payroll information.
*Prepare and reconcile VAT returns, ensuring the appropriate treatment of transactions.
*Maintain and reconcile balance sheets, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and cleared.
*Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and payment obligations to HMRC, including PAYE, CIS, Corporation Tax, and VAT.
*Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, providing detailed commentary and variance analysis against budget.
*Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting cycle.
*Produce weekly reporting for senior management, providing a consolidated view of the group’s trial balance.
*Prepare year-end statutory accounts.
*Produce ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.
Requirements*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE) with substantial technical accounting experience.
*Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
