Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits
Are you a qualified engineer who enjoys working on utilities, infrastructure and varied industrial systems, rather than being tied to one production line?
We’re recruiting a Site Services Engineer for a large-scale food manufacturing site in Sleaford. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the essential plant and services that keep a high-output factory running safely and efficiently.
This is a genuinely varied engineering role covering boilers, refrigeration, water, effluent, mechanical systems and general site services.

Your responsibilities will include:

*Mechanical drives, hydraulics and pneumatics
*Pipefitting and general mechanical maintenance
*Planned preventative maintenance
*Electrical site services
*Emergency lighting and portable appliance testing
*General site fabric repairs and improvements
*Supporting new equipment installation and commissioning
*Fault finding and breakdown response
You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to improve reliability, support production start-up and reduce downtime.
You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, lean initiatives and environmental performance across the site.
What We’re Looking ForYou’ll ideally have:
*NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering
*Mechanical or electrical engineering background
*Apprentice-trained experience preferred
*Experience in site services, utilities, facilities or industrial maintenance
*Knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, water or effluent systems
*Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
*Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
*Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
*Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
You don’t need experience with every system listed above. A strong core engineering background and the ability to learn new systems are what matter most.
What’s In It For You?*4 on / 4 off days and nights
*Competitive salary and benefits
*Permanent position with a major UK food manufacturer
*Stable, long-term opportunity
*Broad exposure to utilities and industrial engineering
*Ongoing training and development
*Opportunities to progress into senior engineering or utilities roles
*Continued investment in engineering, infrastructure and site capability
The BusinessYou’ll be joining a major UK food manufacturer operating as part of a wider European group, supplying branded and own-label products to major retail and foodservice customers.
The site operates at significant scale and continues to invest in engineering capability, infrastructure and production efficiency.
This is an opportunity to become a key part of the engineering function and work on systems that genuinely keep the factory running.
