Our client, a growing and well-established professional services business, is seeking an experienced Accountant to take ownership of its client accounting function on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Accountant, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of client accounting services across a varied portfolio, while developing and supporting a small team. Working closely with senior stakeholders and clients, you will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive and personable approach, helping to strengthen processes and support the continued growth of the business.

The responsibilities:
*Lead and oversee the client accounting function
*Manage reconciliations across multiple client accounts
*Prepare management accounts and yeare-end accounts, along with various other financial reporting
*Oversee VAT and MTD submissions
*Manage purchase ledger and supplier payments
*Review financial information and resolve discrepancies
*Support and develop junior finance team members
*Improve processes, systems, and financial controls
The candidate:
*AAT Level 4 qualified, studying towards, or qualified by experience
*Strong practical accounting experience within a client-focused environment
*Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge/experience
*Extensive experience using Xero and confident with Excel
*Good knowledge of VAT, tax, reconciliations, and management accounts
*Confident leader with excellent organisation and communication skills
