Early Support Makes a Lasting Difference
We’re looking for a KS1 Tutor to support young learners across Dorset through personalised 1:1 tuition.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you’ll provide tailored support to children in Key Stage 1 who may require alternative educational provision or additional help to engage with learning. Many of the pupils we support benefit from a nurturing and creative approach that helps develop confidence, strengthen core skills, and foster a positive relationship with education.
This is a rewarding opportunity for education professionals who enjoy working with younger children and helping them achieve important developmental milestones.
*Location: Dorset
*Key Stage: KS1
*Start Date: September
*Hours: Flexible
*Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
*Type: 1:1 Tuition
Requirements
*Minimum 6 months’ experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
*Experience supporting children within KS1 or primary education
*Good understanding of early literacy and numeracy development
*Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions
*Experience supporting children with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Patient, positive, and adaptable approach
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
*Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within Dorset

You’ll work with children who may have a range of needs, including:
*Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
*Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
*ADHD
*Anxiety and school avoidance
*Speech, language, and communication needs
*EHCPs and additional learning needs
Each child receives a personalised programme designed to support their learning, confidence, and engagement.
