Hybrid

We’re working with a brilliant leading national UK law firm that is looking to appoint a Contracts Advisor into its established Risk & Compliance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a contracts professional who enjoys working at the intersection of commercial contracts, legal risk and regulatory compliance, and wants to take ownership of a broad portfolio of client and supplier agreements.

You’ll work closely with Partners, senior stakeholders, Procurement and the wider Risk & Compliance function, providing practical, commercially focused advice and helping the firm manage contractual and regulatory risk.

The Role?
As Contracts Advisor, you’ll have a particular focus on client contracts and engagement terms
*Reviewing, drafting and negotiating client engagement terms, contracts and agreements
*Advising on outside counsel guidelines, panel terms, engagement letters and standard terms of business
*Identifying and assessing legal, regulatory and commercial risks within contracts
*Advising stakeholders on departures from standard contractual positions and supporting the relevant approval processes
*Working closely with Procurement on supplier contracts and terms of service
*Acting as a trusted advisor to Partners and internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance queries
*Maintaining and developing contract precedents, playbooks, guidance and contract databases
*Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and market practice
*Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice that enables the business to move forward
This is a high-profile role with excellent exposure across the firm, offering the opportunity to become a key point of contact for contractual matters.

About You?
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have experience in contract review, contract advisory or contract negotiation, whether that’s within a law firm, professional services environment or another regulated sector.

You could come from a background such as:
*Legal Contracts
*Commercial Contracts
*Contract Management
*Risk & Compliance
*Legal Operations
*In-house Legal
*Professional Services
You’ll ideally have experience with client engagement terms and/or supplier contracts, alongside an understanding of the regulatory or risk considerations that can sit within commercial agreements.
*Commercially minded and pragmatic
*Confident identifying and managing contractual risk
*Comfortable advising senior stakeholders
*Strong in contract drafting, review and negotiation
*Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
*An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
*Proactive and comfortable working independently
Experience within a law firm or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential

What’s in it for you?

This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing Risk & Compliance function within a progressive and commercially focused national law firm.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a varied range of contracts, gain significant exposure to senior stakeholders and play a key role in supporting the firm’s commercial and regulatory objectives.
