Job Description:
Full job descriptionThe post holder will:
*Lead the strategic, operational and clinical delivery of healthcare services within HMP Stoke Heath.
*Ensure services are responsive, evidence based, patient centred and aligned with reducing health inequalities.
*Act as the senior healthcare representative within the prison, developing strong partnerships with prison leadership, commissioners, NHS providers and external stakeholders.
*Lead service transformation and continuous quality improvement to deliver improved patient outcomes, experience and value for money.
*Foster a culture of safety, learning, innovation and professional excellence.
*Ensure robust clinical governance, risk management and regulatory compliance arrangements are in place.
*Promote integration between physical health, mental health, public health and substance misuse services to provide seamless care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
*Provide strategic and operational leadership across all healthcare services delivered within HMP Stoke Heath.
*Ensure services meet contractual, financial, quality and performance expectations.
*Monitor and improve performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
*Lead business continuity and emergency planning arrangements.
*Maintain effective relationships with commissioners, prison leadership teams and partner providers.
*Ensure accurate reporting of service activity, quality and outcomes.
Clinical Leadership
*Provide professional leadership across the multidisciplinary healthcare workforce.
*Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement methodologies.
*Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centred care.
*Support the development of innovative care models that improve patient access and outcomes.
*Maintain visibility within clinical areas and actively engage with staff and patients.
Quality, Governance and Risk
*Provide leadership for the clinical governance agenda across healthcare services.
*Lead preparations for CQC inspections, HMIP inspections and commissioner reviews.
*Ensure learning from incidents, complaints, deaths in custody, safeguarding reviews and serious incidents is embedded in practice.
*Ensure compliance with Trust policies, statutory requirements and national standards.
*Oversee risk management processes and maintain healthcare contributions to the prison risk register.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
*Knowledge of NHS policy and healthcare regulation.
*Understanding of offender health and reducing health inequalities.
*Advanced leadership and influencing skills.
*Workforce planning and organisational development expertise.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills.
*Experience using healthcare information systems including SystmOne.
*Ability to analyse complex data and develop improvement plans.
