Overview
My client is going through an exciting stage of growth, investing heavily in modernising its platforms with scalable, cloud-native architecture. They’re looking for a Backend Developer to take ownership of key backend systems, working primarily in Go and AWS, and to help mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
London: 1–2 days/week on-site
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000
Employment type: Permanent position
Role & Responsibilities
*Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Go
*Take ownership of key backend components, from design through to deployment
*Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions
*Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, databases, and backend services
*Contribute to architectural decisions around performance, scalability and security
*Work with AWS cloud infrastructure to deploy and maintain services
*Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards
Skills & Experience
*4–6 years’ professional software development experience
*Strong experience with Go
*Proven experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
*Solid experience with AWS
*Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
*Strong engineering background delivering projects end-to-end
*Experience with microservices architecture
