Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established freight forwarder based in Hounslow for an experienced Operations Manager with strong experience in freight operations, customs compliance, AEO and ETFS.
You will need to have a strong background within freight forwarding, with hands-on operational experience and proven experience managing teams and staff.
You will also need a strong knowledge of:
*Customs compliance and procedures
*Customs audits and AEO standards
*ETFS shipments
*Import and export operations across different modes of transport
Duties:
*Oversee day-to-day import and export operations across different modes.
*Handle operational and customs-related queries.
*Ensure customs records are accurate and kept up to date.
*Maintain high standards of customs compliance.
*Support and participate in customs compliance audits.
*Prepare and contribute to management reports.
*Manage, motivate and support the operations team.
*Provide operational training and guidance where required.
*Ensure the team is confident and competent in their day-to-day duties.
*Maintain an approachable and supportive management style.
The successful candidate must have management-level experience within freight forwarding and demonstrable experience in the operational and customs-related duties outlined above.
You will be an experienced people manager who can motivate a team, provide effective training and ensure high operational and compliance standards are consistently maintained.
Freight forwarding management experience is essential for this role.
