Contract: Part-Time, 3 Days per Week, Term Time Only, plus 3 additional weeks during school holidays following Results Days
Hours: 8:00am -16:30pm
I am recruiting for an experienced, organised, and proactive Exams Officer to manage and oversee all aspects of the examinations process. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a strong understanding of examination regulations and administration to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of both internal and external examinations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, organisation, and delivery of public examinations in accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements, whilst supporting students, staff, and parents throughout the examination cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Examination Administration
*Manage examination entries for GCSE, AS, A Level, BTEC, EPQ, FSMQ and other external qualifications.
*Liaise with Heads of Faculty and Department Heads regarding candidate entries.
*Process and submit examination entries accurately and within awarding body deadlines.
*Arrange examination provision for external or returning candidates where required.
*Produce examination timetables, candidate information, and examination guidance materials.
Examination Delivery
*Oversee the secure receipt, storage, and handling of examination papers and scripts.
*Coordinate and manage the day-to-day running of public examinations.
*Organise internal examinations for Years 10–13 in collaboration with relevant staff.
*Manage room allocations, seating plans, and examination logistics.
*Organise and coordinate invigilators, including recruitment and annual training in line with JCQ regulations.
Student Support & Compliance
*Liaise with SEND staff and relevant colleagues regarding access arrangements and examination accommodations.
*Ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations, awarding body requirements, and data protection legislation.
Results & Post-Results Services
*Coordinate the preparation and release of examination results.
*Attend GCSE and A Level Results Days and provide support regarding results and post-results services.
*Oversee the receipt, distribution, and retention of examination certificates.
*Produce examination statistics and reports for senior leadership and external agencies as required.
Essential Requirements
*Experience working in examinations administration and/or within an educational setting.
*Strong understanding of examination processes and procedures.
*Excellent ICT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 applications.
*Ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
*Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team.
*High levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
Desirable
*Knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
*Experience using school Management Information Systems (MIS), such as iSAMS.
*Understanding of examination entry processes and results administration.
*Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements relating to student information.
