Location: West Thurrock
Salary: £37,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, start times typically between 8:00am – 9:00am
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Mid-September
Our client is a growing and reputable logistics business specialising in international shipping, freight forwarding and logistics services. They manage a wide range of freight operations including ocean and air freight, customs clearance and warehouse distribution for imports and exports.
Due to continued growth and the purchase of a new artic, our client is looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from mid-September.
The Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various locations, primarily across the M25 and surrounding areas, as well as completing sweeps from Felixstowe depots.
The role will involve:
*Driving Class 1 vehicles with both curtain-sided trailers and container skellies
*Covering London Gateway, Felixstowe and Southampton ports
*Completing daily multidrop deliveries
*Delivering goods safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service
*Completing collections and deliveries across the M25 and surrounding areas
*Ensuring all relevant transport and tachograph requirements are adhered to
*Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any issues appropriately
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
*A valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
*Valid Driver CPC qualification
*A valid Digital Tachograph Card
*Previous experience completing multidrop deliveries
*A good knowledge of London, the M25 and surrounding areas
*Previous container experience would be advantageous
*Port cards for Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway would be beneficial, although these can be obtained once in the role if required
*A reliable, professional and customer-focused approach
