The Opportunity
A leading engineering and construction organisation is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major industrial construction project in Central Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile, large-scale development, supporting project teams in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance throughout the construction phase.
Working closely with project management, site teams, contractors and key stakeholders, you will play a vital role in promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across a complex construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide day-to-day Health, Safety and Environmental support across all site activities.
*Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours to identify potential hazards and support risk reduction initiatives.
*Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with site HSE requirements.
*Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
*Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
*Review and monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
*Promote a positive behavioural safety culture throughout the project.
*Liaise with project teams, client representatives and external stakeholders as required.
*Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and project procedures.
*Maintain accurate HSE documentation, records and project KPI reporting.
*Support emergency preparedness activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
*A minimum of 3 years’ experience within an HSE Advisor or HSE Management role.
*Experience working within heavy construction environments such as major infrastructure, industrial construction, energy projects, power generation or civil engineering.
*Qualifications supporting IOSH Technical Membership (TechIOSH) or Certified Membership (CertIOSH) status.
*Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
*Experience working alongside multiple contractors and subcontractors on complex projects.
*Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
*The ability to challenge unsafe behaviours and drive continuous improvement in site safety performance.
Desirable Experience
*Previous experience supporting major energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
*NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
*Experience working within EPC, industrial or large-scale construction environments.
*Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and best practice.
