The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced underwriter or underwriting leader looking to move beyond traditional portfolio management and play a key role in building a growing Specialty business.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to shape underwriting strategy, strengthen broker relationships, drive profitable growth, launch new initiatives, and contribute to the long-term development of a multi-line specialty platform. This role offers genuine influence, visibility, and the chance to build something rather than simply inherit an existing structure.
Key Responsibilities*Lead the development and growth of a Specialty underwriting portfolio.
*Develop and execute underwriting strategy within your chosen class of business.
*Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships across the UK market.
*Identify profitable growth opportunities and new product initiatives.
*Collaborate with claims, actuarial, compliance, finance and data teams to ensure sustainable portfolio performance.
*Support the hiring, mentoring and development of future underwriting talent.
*Contribute to the broader growth strategy of a rapidly expanding Specialty division.
