Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Training and Development Manager, who has passion, drive and a proven track record in training and mentoring first class advisors, to oversee the training and competence of advisers, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure that advisers are equipped with the tools, training, and confidence to consistently meet clients’ evolving needs
The role will play a key role in fostering a compliance culture that protects both the firm and its clients while empowering advisers to meet and exceed industry standards within a high-performing firm
Role Purpose
To ensure every new adviser is trained, onboarded and supervised into lasting success — building their capability through observation, feedback and coaching — and to sustain excellent client outcomes and file quality across the wider advisory group as advisers progress beyond training
Once an advisor completes training and is signed off from probation and progresses to CAS, the Training & Development Supervisor continues to support the wider advisory group with file checks, pre-sale checks, feedback, coaching and regulatory observations, alongside the Compliance Manager and the Head of Practice Management
Key Responsibilities
Deliver classroom-based training and structured onboarding for trainee advisers, assessing readiness to progress via observed role plays before they take on supervised client work.
Supervise trainee advisers through their on-the-job client experience, using observation (live and video based), feedback and coaching to build their capability and confidence
Complete file checks, pre-sale checks and observations for newer advisers throughout training and probation, ensuring risks are identified and addressed early
Once advisers complete training continue supporting the wider advisory group with file checks, pre-sale checks, feedback, coaching and regulatory observations as required
Work closely with the Head of Client Outcomes, the Compliance Manager and the Head of Practice Management to ensure a consistent, joined-up approach to adviser development, supervision and regulatory assurance across the business
Key skills
*Qualified to at least Level 4 through a recognised industry body, with significant experience as a financial adviser providing client-facing advice across pensions, investments and protection
*Proven experience training, coaching, mentoring or supervising other advisers
*A strong track record in observation, feedback and coaching — able to give direct, constructive feedback that visibly builds capability and is in line with Guiding Principles
*Thorough understanding of the advice process, suitability requirements and file/pre-sale standards
