Full job descriptionCrowe Watson Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Cambridge as they look to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team, offering flexible working, a strong company pension, and much more. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the day to day bookkeeping needs of a varied client portfolio, ensuring accurate financial records and providing a high standard of service. You will work closely with colleagues across the practice, building strong client relationships while developing your technical skills within a firm that values accuracy, initiative, and professional growth.

What is the day-to-day of the role:
*Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients using various accounting software packages
*Process purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
*Prepare VAT returns and ensure timely submission in line with HMRC deadlines
*Assist with month end and year end procedures, liaising with accounts staff where required
*Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, providing a responsive and professional service
Required Skills and Qualifications:
*Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
*Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations
*Proficiency with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
*Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*Confident communicator, comfortable liaising directly with clients
