Full job descriptionContract Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Leicester (hybrid, 3 days onsite) | 3-month contract | £250/day Inside IR35
A senior, hands-on infrastructure role in a small IT function that needs someone who can just get on with it. You’ll take day-to-day ownership of the private cloud and Windows Server estate, Microsoft 365 and existing security tooling: keeping things stable and secure.
What you’ll be doing:
*Owning day-to-day support and maintenance of the private cloud and Windows Server estate: virtualisation, networking, storage, core infrastructure
*Administering Azure and Microsoft 365, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Purview
*Acting as the senior technical resource for complex incidents, upgrades and operational issues
*Supporting existing integrations, APIs and platform connectivity
*Working alongside the Head of IT Services to keep services stable and reliable
What you’ll need:
*Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
*Solid background in Windows Server, networking and core infrastructure
*Experience supporting infrastructure in a BAU operational environment, not just project delivery
*Working knowledge of Entra ID, Intune, Defender and security best practice
*Experience securing cloud and infrastructure platforms: firewalls, WAF, network security, vulnerability management, Zero Trust
*Comfortable working hands-on and autonomously in a small team
Nice to have: Business Central SaaS, Nessus Tenable, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Terraform/IaC, SQL, Meraki, and any exposure to API/integration platforms.
Three days a week in the Leicester office, the rest remote.
