Ready to make your mark in PR?We’re looking for a creative and ambitious PR Assistant to join a busy professional services environment in Birmingham.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 12+ months of PR experience who wants to develop their career in a varied role covering media relations, content creation, social media and external communications.
You’ll be working closely with the PR team and senior stakeholders, helping to create stories that get noticed and build the profile and reputation of the organisation.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING PR & Media Relations
*Help identify news stories, PR opportunities and creative media angles

*Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key media contacts

*Research relevant publications and new media opportunities

*Draft and distribute press releases, media briefings and Q&A documents

*Monitor media coverage and produce reports

*Maintain and develop media contact lists

Content & Digital
*Create engaging content from potentially technical information

*Upload news, press releases and other content to the website

*Support PR activity across social media channels

*Assist with podcasts and other external content

*Work closely with internal communications teams

Team Support
*Work with senior stakeholders across the organisation

*Assist with wider PR campaigns and initiatives

*Support the PR team with ad hoc projects and general activity

*Stay up to date with the news agenda and identify opportunities to get involved

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORWe’re looking for someone who is creative, confident and genuinely interested in PR and the media.
You’ll ideally have:
12+ months’ PR experience
Experience writing press releases
Confidence communicating with journalists and external stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A creative approach and an eye for a good story
Strong organisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines
Confidence working with senior stakeholders
An understanding of social media and digital content
A proactive, positive approach and the ability to use your own initiative
Experience within PR agencies or professional services would be advantageous.
