A leading civil engineering contractor is delivering a major highways improvement scheme in Norfolk. The project includes significant earthworks, drainage, highway construction and associated infrastructure works aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing congestion and enhancing journey reliability on a key section of the strategic road network.
Your new role
As Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a section of earthworks, drainage and highways works from planning through to delivery.
Key duties will include:
*Managing and coordinating site engineering activities
*Leading and mentoring Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers
*Reviewing drawings and raising technical queries
*Producing lookahead programmes and monitoring progress
*Managing temporary works requirements
*Producing ITPs and quality documentation
*Maintaining accurate site records and supporting commercial activities
*Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are followed
*Working closely with subcontractors, designers and client representatives
*Driving high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance
What you’ll need to succeed
*Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
*Previous experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major infrastructure projects
*Strong background in earthworks, drainage and general civil engineering works
*Knowledge of temporary works, construction sequencing and programme management
*Ability to manage and develop junior engineering staff
*SMSTS and relevant Health & Safety training
*Valid CSCS Card
