We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established, global manufacturing business for a commercially focused Management Accountant to support the financial performance of the business.
This is a great opportunity to act as a business partner across a UK operation, providing accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and operational analysis to help drive efficiency, profitability and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and KPI dashboards
*Producing detailed manufacturing performance reports and variance analyses
*Analysing financial results against budgets, forecasts and operational targets
*Presenting financial information and recommendations to management teams
*Analysing production costs, labour utilisation and overhead absorption
*Monitoring inventory valuation and ensuring accurate accounting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies
*Supporting bi-annual stock counts and cycle count programmes
*Ensuring accurate reporting of inventory provisions, obsolete stock and slow-moving inventory
*Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for manufacturing operations
*Monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts, and recommending corrective action where required
*Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls
*Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
*Supporting internal and external audits
*Contributing to the development and enhancement of financial systems and reporting processes
*Preparing and filing UK, European entity VAT returns
What We’re Looking For
*Part Qualified Accountant, actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA
*Minimum 3-5 years of management accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
*Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management and manufacturing operations
*Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
*Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
*Excellent understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
*Strong commercial awareness and business partnering skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to operational stakeholders
*Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
*Strong organisational and time-management skills
