Full job descriptionWe are recruiting for a Deputy Warehouse Team Lead to work for a Leighton Buzzard based company. Our client are growing, and seeking someone to support their core operations:
Working Hours: 07:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Location: Leighton Buzzard.
Contract Type: Perm.
Overview:
*The Deputy Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring stock accuracy, efficient goods movement, and effective coordination between warehousing and production. The role acts as the Team Leader’s deputy, taking responsibility for warehouse operations in their absence and helping to develop a safe, productive and well-organised team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
*Assist with the management of EA manufactured, bought-in and kitted stock.
*Deputise for the Warehouse Team Leader during periods of absence.
*Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
*Promote/maintain a safe working environment in line with company Health & Safety procedures.
*Receive & check incoming deliveries.
*Investigate & report any discrepancies or damaged goods.
*Ensure stock is correctly labelled & stored.
*Coordinate picking, packing & dispatch activities.
*Process Goods Out transactions.
*Assist in arranging transport & logistics for customer deliveries.
*Help ensure customer delivery dates are achieved & communicate any issues.
*Maintain accurate warehouse stock levels.
*Carry out regular stock checks.
*Report stock discrepancies & support investigations.
*Highlight potential stock shortages to the Warehouse Team Leader & Purchasing.
*Ensure production receives materials on time.
*Maintain regular communication with Team Leaders.
*Highlight material issues affecting production.
Key Skills & Experience:
*Experience working within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
*Good understanding of stock control and inventory management.
*Experience using ERP systems (Orderwise desirable).
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
*Strong organisational skills.
*Good communication skills.
*Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
*Positive attitude with a willingness to lead by example.
*Previous experience supervising or mentoring colleagues.
*Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
*Experience working with production planning.
*Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
