Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
*Manage a caseload of housing litigation matters from inception through to conclusion, including rent arrears, service charge recovery, leasehold disputes, and housing benefit appeals.
*Review, prepare, and authorise legal documentation for court and tribunal proceedings.
*Provide timely legal advice and support to operational teams on housing-related issues and disputes.
*Represent the organisation at courts, tribunals, mediations, and hearings where appropriate.
*Make informed decisions on legal strategy, identifying and mitigating financial, operational, and reputational risks.
*Work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal representatives to progress cases effectively.
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and procedural requirements.
*Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory and court deadlines are met.
*Support managers and colleagues by monitoring legislative developments and communicating changes in legal requirements and best practice.
*Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks relating to housing litigation and income recovery.
*Provide training and guidance to colleagues on housing law and litigation processes.
