Academics are working with a supportive secondary school in Reading who are looking for a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, youth worker or someone with experience supporting young people.
Your Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
*Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
*Help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
*Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
*Build positive relationships with students.
*Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
*Help create a safe and supportive learning environment.
We’re Looking For in a SEMH Teaching Assistant

*Confident managing challenging behaviour.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Reliable, positive and professional.
*Interested in developing a career within education.
Previous experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.

*Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
*Location: Reading
*School: Secondary School
*Start Date: September
*Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
*Pay: £93-£110 per day
*Contract: Full-time
