In this position, you will be responsible for operating large flatbed trucks to transport goods efficiently and safely across various routes.
Job Details
*Monday to Friday
*Various start times from 18:00 onwards
*Nights only
*£20.25 per hour plus night out allowance
Responsibilities
*Safely operate HGV 1 flatbed trucks to deliver goods to multiple destinations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
*Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
*Load and secure cargo on flatbed trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening for safe transit
*Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues on the road
*Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies
*Uphold a professional demeanour when interacting with clients, customers, and team members during deliveries
Experience
*Proven commercial driving experience, preferably as a delivery driver or HGV driver with a focus on flatbed operations
*Valid HGV 1 (Class 1) license with no more than 6 penalty points for minor offences
*Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety procedures related to large vehicle operation
*Experience in securing and handling flatbed cargo is highly desirable
*Strong understanding of route planning, navigation tools, and time management skills
*Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads efficiently
