Agilis Search is delighted to be partnering with a reputable and successful business in Ipswich to recruit an Assistant Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to develop their career within a large, fast-paced organisation. Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including month-end reporting, reconciliations, compliance activities, fixed assets, VAT, and financial analysis.
The role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvements across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
*Managing daily banking activities, cash movements, and payments.
*Preparing supplier payment runs and processing ad-hoc payments.
*Assisting with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements.
*Preparing and posting journals.
*Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
*Maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
*Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
*Assisting with financial reporting.
*Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
*Assisting with compliance and financial control activities.
*Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
*Identifying and implementing process improvements.
*Providing ad-hoc support to the wider finance team as required.
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates who are:
*AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
*Experienced within a finance or accounting environment.
*Confident using Excel and financial systems.
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
*Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
*Analytical, proactive, and solutions-focused.
*Strong communicators who enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
