Full job descriptionWe are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and reliable Storeperson – Picker / Packer to join their busy Spares Warehouse team in Birmingham.
This is a hands-on warehouse role where you will play an important part in ensuring stock is received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately and efficiently. You’ll be joining a team where organisation, attention to detail and a strong focus on customer service are essential.
The RoleWorking as part of the warehouse team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day movement and management of stock, ensuring orders are processed correctly and goods reach customers and dealers on time.
Your duties will include:
*Receiving and checking incoming stock against purchase orders and transfer documentation.
*Unloading deliveries and checking quantities, specifications and condition of goods.
*Picking, packing and preparing stock for dispatch in line with customer orders.
*Preparing consignment notes and other relevant dispatch paperwork.
*Loading vehicles and ensuring all required delivery documentation is completed.
*Processing stock movements and maintaining accurate inventory records.
*Investigating stock discrepancies and reporting any issues to the Warehouse Manager.
*Supporting regular stocktakes and cycle counts.
*Safely handling customer-owned goods received for servicing.
*Maintaining a clean, organised and secure warehouse environment.
*Ensuring warehouse equipment and stock are appropriately stored and protected.
*Completing general warehouse administration as required.
*Working closely with colleagues across the warehouse and administration teams.
*Following all company Health & Safety procedures and reporting hazards promptly.
*Supporting the wider warehouse team with other duties when required.
About YouWe’re looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Ideally, you will have:
*Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment.
*Experience using a computerised stock or inventory system.
*Knowledge of a Warehouse Management System; experience with OPERA would be advantageous.
*Good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety requirements.
*Experience with web-based shipping, manifest or dispatch systems.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook or similar email systems.
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and paperwork.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*The ability to manage your workload effectively and work to deadlines.
*A proactive approach and willingness to support colleagues across the warehouse.
